High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has long been approved for treatment of prostate cancer in over 20 countries, including Canada and Australia.

HIFU is the minimally-invasive, highly effective treatment option for certain types of prostate cancer. In the fall of 2015, it was approved by the FDA in the United States.
