Incontilase for Female Incontinence

Incontilase is an Er:YAG laser therapy that shrinks and tightens vaginal tissue in order to provide greater support to the bladder.

What are the benefits of Incontilase?

Incontilase is a non-surgical, non-invasive, virtually painless procedure. No special preparation or post-care is needed. Recovery is very quick without the need for pain relievers or antibiotics. You will be able to return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Two to three sessions a month apart are recommended to realize the full benefits of Incontilase.

What results can I expect?

You will experience a gradual improvement of your symptoms, with the optimal results achieved approximately four months after your last treatment. 68% of women report that they experience no incontinence and are completely dry after 4 months. 94% report an overall improvement.

What happens during the procedure?

The procedure is similar to an intra-vaginal ultrasound. You will feel a slight warm sensation during the treatment. Each treatment session is approximately 20-30 minutes long.

Post-treatment guidelines

  • No special after-care or medication is required.
  • Abstain from sexual intercourse for 2 weeks after treatment.
  • Refrain from using tampons for 4 weeks.
  • Take care to prevent trauma to the treated area.
  • Avoid activities that increase bladder pressure for one month, such as heavy lifting.
  • Prolonged periods of sustained exercise are not recommended for 2 weeks after treatment.

UUA Patient Testimonials

Incontilase Patient Testimonial

Dr. Elterman,

The Incontilase treatment provided by you has helped me tremendously.

Following surgical bladder repairs, a TVT, and Botox injections, I ended up having to self-cauterize. After two years of wearing incontinence protection (pads) day and & night, I decided to try my first “Incontilase” treatment on August 20, 2015. Following the treatment, I had no pain, no downtime or side effects.

Initially, I did not notice much difference. However, after the second treatment I started to notice some improvement. It improved a little more following my third treatment. In May 2017, I received a fourth treatment. Since that time I have not had to wear incontinence protection (pads). I can laugh, cough, sneeze and get to the bathroom on time without any leakage.

This treatment has given me my freedom and self-confidence back. I can’t say enough good things about the treatment, and would not hesitate to recommend this treatment to any of my friends or family. I am very thankful that I was referred to you for this procedure and I cannot thank you enough for helping me.
