Frequently Asked Questions

How can I request an appointment?

Call our office at (416) 979-9000 or send a request via this website.

My issue is urgent. How soon can you see me?

If you require immediate assistance, please see your family doctor, visit a walk-in medical centre, or go to the emergency department at your nearest hospital. We are unable to address emergencies/urgent cases at our clinic.

Do I need a referral for a consultation?

If you are new to our clinic, depending on your condition, you may need to obtain a referral from your family doctor.

If you are an existing patient of our clinic, referrals are not required for follow-up appointments and for appointments concerning any new urologic issues.

If you are seeking one of the specific treatments listed on our website, referrals are not required, whether you are a new or an existing patient.

When will I be seen by a doctor?

In many cases we’re able to see the patients within 7-14 days from the appointment booking request.

Is everything covered by OHIP?

The initial consultation is always free to Ontario residents eligible for OHIP coverage.

Non-OHIP patients may be subject to a consultation fee. Should you choose to receive treatment for your condition at UUA, the consultation fee is applied towards your treatment cost.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we work with many insurance plans. However not all our services may be covered by your insurance plan and some require a referral. Check with your insurance provider for details about your coverage.

Are treatment fees tax-deductible?

Typically – yes. To verify this in your particular case, we recommend that you consult your accountant and/or refer to the Revenue Canada website:
